About This Place

If you find yourself wandering through the picturesque streets of Edinburgh, particularly near the serene Meadows, make sure to stop by the delightful café, Söderberg The Meadows. Nestled at 27 Simpson Loan, EH3 9GG, this charming establishment has quickly become a beloved haven for coffee aficionados and pastry enthusiasts alike.

Upon entering Söderberg The Meadows, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both casual meet-ups and tasty solo mornings. The spacious layout accommodates a varied crowd, from students poring over their books to families enjoying a leisurely weekend brunch. The friendly staff adds to the café's welcoming aura, providing attentive service that enhances your overall experience.

As for the menu, it showcases an impressive selection of coffee, pastries, and light bites. Many patrons rave about the high-quality offerings; one customer, Geoff P, describes savoring an excellent coffee alongside a sumptuous toastie and delectable pastry. The extensive vegan selection further sets Söderberg apart, catering to varied dietary needs without compromising on taste.

Can you imagine indulging in a comforting cardamom bun or a heavenly cinnamon roll paired with a rich filter coffee? Shane McDonald couldn't help but express his delight in discovering this culinary gem, referring to it as a paradise for fans of Swedish flavors.

However, as with any establishment, there are mixed reviews. While many enjoy the beautiful array of food, a few diners have experienced slight inconsistencies in food quality and service timing. On a busy morning, it can be an exercise in patience waiting for your coffee, as noted by Mustan B, whose beverage arrived cold after a long wait. Nevertheless, the charming ambience and high-quality food options often overshadow such missteps.

In conclusion, Söderberg The Meadows emerges as a delightful destination for anyone looking to enjoy delicious bites and high-quality coffee amidst the enchanting backdrop of Edinburgh. Whether you're stopping by for a quick pastry to-go or planning to linger over a cup of coffee, this café is certainly worth the visit. So, grab your friends or treat yourself to a well-deserved café day—your taste buds will thank you!

Had an excellent coffee, toastie, cake and pastry. All were high quality. It was difficult to choose as there were so many lovely options including a good vegan selection too. Friendly staff who gave good service too.

Found this coffee shop while walking from The Meadows and it was a pleasant surprise! Very nice and big coffee shop, lots of pastry options and delicious as well!

Wow, I love Swedish Vega. And finding this place was a real gem. We had a card on and a cinnamon them both were absolutely delicious, with filter coffee. I hope to come back here again.

It's a nice place to get a coffee and a snack. If you go early, you have a better choice of pastries and buns. The cardomen buns are delicious and highly recommended. Coffee was OK - but cold because they took forever to make it. The most laughable thing is the rest room where you need a code to enter - and it's on he receipt. I guess that's reasonable due to probable past abuse by non customers. The tables were sticky and not very clean. Shame.

Mixed feelings! They have a beautiful array of food, however I found it wasn’t quite as good as it looked. The iced chai borderline tasted like plain milk, besides the cinnamon on top, so wouldn’t recommend. The Lax sandwich was nice, though the bread was a little tough/stale, and the cinnamon bun was a tad dry (but I still enjoyed it)! Ambience is good and staff are smiley. Total for the three items was about £18

Ordered the Americano, Flat White, Sweet Scone and Cinnamon Bun. Overall, the taste is OK and the atmosphere is great. It’s a good place if you want to hang out with friends or do some work. Nothing is mind-blowing but a good option to have something to drink
